The helo will be able to fight infantry depending on the minimum range of its weapons, and it will also be shielded from AA unless approached from a direction where the forest is thin. But I’ll be frivolous and talk about something.

That's like half of the entirety of the superheavy lineup for a 4v4 team, even assuming they all go some nork including faction and all downvet their superheavies. It's not even like the Vampyr or something. The Carl Gustav M3 only has like 20 AP, you'd have to like hit a T-90 from the side in fairly close quarters to kill it in even two-three hits, and for that, they'd have to completely not screen their superheavy, because there's no way you'd get that close with a carl gustav to the sides of a superheavy unless the other guy was a complete idiot and charged it off alone near a forest or urban zone or something. And most importantly, why don't I ever play against idiots like that? I could like wrack up some super sweet kill-lists.Also, what's a BTRM? Is that like BTR-90 or something? What idiots were you playing against? But since we were sharing ludicrous results on the behalf of infantry I thought I'd share mine.Basically he didn't realise I had infiltrated behind his lines and set up along the roads infantry that just laid into his reinforcements. While he was distracted trying to push with his tanks and infantry at the river I had row after row of infantry weakening his reinforcements till about a mile behind his lines they were hit by that unit.
M113 HafizThe IDF was faced with immense tank armies during the Yom Kippur war and took severe losses. The experience led to a heavy focus on anti-tank efforts in the IDF, primarily through getting a metric fuckton of tanks on their own, but also through the development of advanced anti-tank systems like the Spike NLOS. The Spike NLOS (Non-Line of Sight) is a 25 km range anti-tank missile that can be launched like a cruise missile towards specific coordinates, then guided onto the target by the operator, who receives EO data over a radio link. Here we see it mounted on an M113.25 km F&F anti-tank artillery, also known as 'REDFOR tears'. Click to expand.
Click to shrink.I think the answer is 'probably'. I have to wonder if it'll be low-end Merks as sort of a challenger to the BMP-3 or if they'll let you call in 100+ point tanks with infantry stuffed in the back. I dunno if it would be meta-shaking but it would be helpful on forest-heavy maps to have tanks that can carry their own escort. Esp if they can carry some forest-killers to rival Spetznaz.Edit: Lol, just realized the trolling that could be had with Merkavas carrying Spike ATGM teams. So many missiles if they're able to be carted around in Merks with LAHAT. Click to expand.

In particular, he talks about how his unit comprises a Merkava 4 with a crew of four and the eight mechanized infantrymen who ride in the back of the Merkava. For an idea of how much space there is in the back of a Merkava, they can put stretchers in the ammo area for evacuating wounded, and the Merkava Mk 4 'Tankbulance' can fit an in the back.
Far, far down the page the author notes that putting 7-10 troops in the ammo compartment means that there's only a 'couple dozen' rounds left for the main gun, and that Mk 4's have a trailer they can pull after themselves for carrying more ammo and supplies. Click to shrink.Yeah, you can stuff like a squad into the Merkava if you really reaaaalllly feel the need.It just requires tossing out all your ammo except the ready rack in the bustle, and the space inside looks like this:That's the ammo storage space of a Merk III, with all the ammo thrown out. The Merkava is not an IFV/APC. It's an MBT which can throw out its empty ammo containers to make room for recovering a stricken tank's crew or carrying a squad of infantrymen for low-intensity conflict (where the loss of main gun ammo isn't as much of a problem). The problem is that doing so requires throwing out all its ammo besides the ready rack in the bustle (in the Merk IV, this means it'll be left with 10+6 (10 in secure fireproof canisters in the bustle, 6 loose in the turret) rounds out of its usual 48 round load of 32+10+6 in the hull/bustle/turret).Wonder if the Israeli are going to get Achzarits, though.

Those would be pretty cool. Article:.As you may have learnt by now, Israel will be a stand-alone nation, meaning it won’t be combined with any other nation into a coalition. Yet, despite that, “Israel’s national deck will be a competitive one” according to FLX, “fielding weapons & vehicles both varied and modern, making it able to stand up to any of the most played decks“. Also, “one of Israel’s gameplay specificities will be its utter lack of IFV“, notwithstanding one Merkava being configured in transport mode (meaning very, very few 105mm ammo!). Yet, they make up for this lack of combat transports with widely available super-heavy APCs such as the Nagmachon & Achzarit.

With MBT-grade armor, including armored roof resilient to cluster bombs, those transports, although lightly armed, should be able to bring your infantry into the thick of the fight safely. PerehIn order to hide the existence of the Spike NLOS missile from enemy intelligence the IDF chose to disguise it as a regular tank. Twelve Spike NLOS missiles were mounted in an elaborate pop-up launcher fitted to a Magach 5 (M48 Patton) hull. You can see the radio antenna used to guide missiles onto targets on top of the launcher. The antenna can only guide one missile at a time, but the missiles can also be launched in fire-and-forget mode. You can clearly see swivels for FN MAGs (vital to making the Pereh look like a regular Magach 5), but these are either not modelled yet, or the Pereh won't have them. The main gun is a fake, since the turret is almost completely filled by the launcher.
The efforts to disguise the Pereh can be considered a success; built around 1981, it was first revealed to the public in 2011.In game, I suspect this will be an up-close-and-personal version of the Spike NLOS in the direct-fire F&F role. Though how it will be represented in-game boggles the mind; Wargame tends to normalize weapon ranges, which means the M72 (max range 200m) can fire 525 meters while the Invar (max range 5000 m) can only fire 2800 meters. Most ATGMs tend to top out at 2800 meters in Wargame, with the Ka-52's anti-radiation missiles having a helicopter air-to-ground range record of 3500 meters. The Spike NLOS has a range of 25,000 meters.
The longest to-ground range I've found has been 5600 meters for the air-launched Harpoon and 9450 for the sea-launched Moskit. Just imagine; 9450 m, F&F, 50% accuracy, 26 AP. And it has twelve of them. The Pereh will probably underwhelm compared to its real-life counterpart's capabilities - and still be a powerful weapon. At 2800 meters range it could play hit-and-run with the T-72BU. At 3500 range it could snipe T-80UMs. REDFOR tears.
2800 F&F, while less than 'irl', would still make this a formidable unit - a ground-based Longbow, essentially.I have to wonder if they're going to go with accurate F&F for the Spike. In the context of Wargame, F&F means if you passed an accuracy check once, the enemy tank can drive up the road, board a plane to Brazil, live in hiding for 10 years, and then when they go outside to play with their tank-children get blown up by the missile/bomb that followed them relentlessly. It's going to be pretty fucking annoying to say the least. And, likewise, the IDF doesn't get MAPATS on Maglan.Actually, you can blame me personally for the Maglan. I pushed hard on the forums for Maglan as recon infantry with the Spike MR. The MAPATS would have been more authentic, but since Eugen would never let infantry have the MAPATS, I suggested the Spike MR instead.
