At the top of the safe there is a metal label identifying the safe as being made by the Safe Cabinet Company, Marietta Ohio. The dial goes up to one hundred and is labeled Yale. Would anyone know what directions to turn the dial, how many numbers and anyone who is in the Bellingham Washington area who may be able to open this safe?Thanks!!.

If no listings there, 'locksmiths' second.Manipulation is a damage-free way of determining mechanical lock combinations via the dial, and is the best method for opening old safes with obsolete locks.Three things to know:1. Not every safe technician manipulates.2. For various reasons not every lock that should theoretically be susceptible to opening by manipulation will give up its numbers to a manipulator in a reasonable time frame.3. If you hire someone to open your safe it's not kosher to dictate the method he or she will use. You are buying a result, not a process.
A manipulator will always try manipulation first without being asked or told. However, most manipulators reserve the right to decide to stop manipulating and drill if manipulation doesn't go well.For example, I refuse 'manipulation only' job orders unless the customer understands and agrees that there will be a fee whether or not manipulation is successful. You don't tell your mechanic he can only use one tool to fix your motor. Same with safes.
