ARE WE ELECTRIC - A DEFAULT SKIN - PYXIS SIMS.
Have you seen the default data base?Best is subjective to personal taste. MY cc standards are very high and I still have too much. I like a cartoony game and prefer cc that is not too realistic, nor photoshoped unless a very small area by someone who is an artist. I like matt skins and very light natural makeup, I am very fussy on meshes.

EG nothing painted on unless it's swim or undies, nothing that makes the crotch area look weird, the waist sucked in nor stuck on boobs. Stuck on boobs is my pet peeve. The fabric needs to falls across the bust as it does in real life not like spray paint. So a default has to look better than what the game already has. That particular skin no I would not use it as it's not to my skin aesthetic, it's much too realistic and defined. That does not mean it isn't to your aesthetic though. If you like realistic use it.
No need of our approval. I made this thread just for fun, or people who know that default replacement should download for something that person does not like that comes in the original game, in my personal opinion I think this is one of the best default replacement.is a new skin for zombies, because originally comes seems to me rather a simple blue skin.I'm anxious to see your opinion of course:DThat's an old zombie skin. The same creator (Navetsea) has a somewhat more recent one that that I think looks better or at least less blurry. I normally prefer a more cartoony look, but I haven't yet found any zombies that I like better. The overall 'look' is at least as much due to the face mesh as the skintone anyway, in my opinion.
I thought this zombie skin looked too pretty and didn't want it until I saw it in someone else's screenshot using a more 'cartoony' looking face mesh. For humans I use defaults from this set: I think Beta, eta and lambda are my S2, S3 and S4. They are my favorite because they're not too shiny or too matte. These are the eyes I use.Plantsims -I still haven't found a skin I like for the other lifestates.
My preference would be for a range of alien tones that starts with a base green and goes darker based on the skintone of the father, but I guess that isn't possible. I'd want the zombie skins to take the Sim's original skintone into account too. That's an old zombie skin.

It's nice when you find a default you really like.
I haven't had a zombie in game for years since I dislike them and I can't say I like any zombie skin simply because I dislike zombies. I have a vampire overlay although I haven't had a vampire in years either. I have a witch overlay, a default alien skin and defaults of the four standard skins.
More than skin are eye defaults, I find those to be the most important followed by my baby bottle default. After that would be the defaulted hair and clothes, especially for maxis careers. I have never found a Doctors one I like though. I do have a lot of defaults all up.
Even more in my medieval game. I really really REALLY loved this when I found it because I hate hate HATE the idea of rotting decaying zombies, so icky icky yukkk. I played around with idea of zombies just being sick sims, but for me the skintone for zombies is either much too dead or much too skewed to one particular tone. Since they're brought back partway, having them stuck in a stone golem really appeals to me, somehow.
Reminds me of Alphonse in FMA. THAT I can suspend belief for much more easily than I can for 'undead' (at which I scoff). Have you seen the default data base?Best is subjective to personal taste. Sounds like some kind of stuff I would like. Well for a start make sure to join Simscave, I check the updates there every day or so.Also check out the now closed Trapping crushesThe data base is also good at finding blogs you might like. So you see a default you like, go check out the rest of the blog as they often have other things. While all kinds of cc gets posted you will soon find creators you like. Skell, Rented Space And DeeDee are three of my favourites. My default skins are PeachT Special needs. Naked fat male sims have a tire around the middle though. You would only see that if you have no blur though. This is my married in Cow wearing sk4- I think?I also have 2 or 3 genetic skins sets so it could be one of thsoe as they do pop up on NPC's.
Actually the more I look at it the more I think it isn't my default lol.A maxis hair I happen to like although I would not mind a texture if I could find one. Default eyebrows. This might be it. I still haven't found a skin I like for the other lifestates. My preference would be for a range of alien tones that starts with a base green and goes darker based on the skintone of the father, but I guess that isn't possible. I'd want the zombie skins to take the Sim's original skintone into account too. This isn't what you were talking about for an alien skin, but you might find it interesting anyway. The colors are sex-linked: males are green and females are grey.I don't think zombie skintones work the way you mean. If I understand what I've read about it correctly, the same single skintone is used for all zombies - it's a full opaque replacement skin, not an overlay, so it can't take the sim's original skintone into account (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong about this).
This is one reason why it took me so long to find a zombie skin that I like. One skintone has to look right for both sexes and all races and too many of the zombie skins I found looked to me like dead white people.Fortunately, most of the other supernatural sims (vampires, werewolves, plantsims and witches) are overlays and it's possible to adjust their opacity so the sim's skintone shows through it. My human sims come in light and dark shades and now if they become supernatural characters, there will still be a variety. My plantsims don't all have to be the same shade of green anymore! I agree with those who write that the best default replacements are really subjective. What one person considers a great one, another may consider terrible.I have gone through dozens of default skins over the years, and my favorite is still this one. I prefer semi-real.
And I still like Ephemera-base skins, even though the creator has long moved on from Sims 2. I use Forest for S4. It can be difficult to get a sharp, non-blurred S4 skintone that is darker than Maxis'. I also like that the belly buttons and noses look good on these.
On many defaults, I feel that the nose is over-emphasized or the belly-button is strange-looking. I'm still sticking with block feet, by the way. Same reason as the infant clothes below. This may be Sims 2 heresy, but I cannot stand the servos in the game. While I'll use the trick to change them into a more android-like creature, if they revert for some reason, at least I can stand these defaults that make them more doll-like:I use overlays for vampires and witches. I'm not fond of the green skintone for the evil witch, either. The Wizard of Oz is a classic film, but that doesn't mean I want my evil witch to look like a darker version of the Wicked Witch of the West. I did replace the skintones for zombies, aliens and plantsims (I'm not on the computer that has them right now.
Sorry!) I should add that I like non-Barbie skintones (Bits on the top only. Painted-on appendages on the bottom can look.
There are other ways to fake bottom appendages. )I've replaced the game's eyes, eyebrows, glasses, makeup, the zits (my teens do not need to look like they have some sort of nasty disease when they break out) the baby outfit (still at one. I'm trying to keep my Downloads folder down) and at least a third of the Maxis clothing and hair (probably more).
Oh, and several buy items. I would have to make a really long list to include these, though, and this post is long enough! One example of an outfit I replaced is the AF clown suit. It's the middle one here. (For some reason, it's not showing up on Moogle's page.) I like the harlequin look a whole lot better than the clown look. I'm still looking for a male replacement. And the propeller hat for AF (why. Just why is there a propeller hat?).For AM. It's just not the silly propeller one!EDIT.
Default face templates! That's another thing. I replaced all but a few of those, mixing and matching templates from at least four creators. This isn't what you were talking about for an alien skin, but you might find it interesting anyway. The colors are sex-linked: males are green and females are grey.I don't think zombie skintones work the way you mean.

My plantsims don't all have to be the same shade of green anymore! Thanks for the link. No, Zombie skins definitely don't work the way I want them to, which is why I'll never find a skin I'm truly happy with. I'd like all the life states to retain traces of the original Sim.

Best defaults? @ Rain671 This have nothing to do with what you asking about, but I just have to be 'honest' and say something here you have the right to use whatever 'Avatar Picture' you want. But this Hitler avatar showing the swap sticker sign is really distasteful and disrespectful to maybe some members who family from the past have been hurt and killed from the violent of such a man and his army.
